Installation of Attr

Prepare Attr for compilation:

./configure --prefix=/usr     \
            --disable-static  \
            --sysconfdir=/etc \
            --docdir=/usr/share/doc/attr-2.5.2

Compile the package:

make

The tests must be run on a filesystem that supports extended attributes such as the ext2, ext3, or ext4 filesystems. To test the results, issue:

make check

Install the package:

make install

Installed programs: attr, getfattr, and setfattr

Installed library: libattr.so

Installed directories: /usr/include/attr and /usr/share/doc/attr-2.5.2

attr	Extends attributes on filesystem objects
